The GammaRAE II R is two instruments in one: it has the rapid, sensitive response of a detector and the accurate dose measurement of a dosimeter. It is designed specifically to meet the needs of first responders. The GammaRAE II R contains two separate sensors. The cesium iodide (CsI) scintillator provides a fast two-second response to radiological threats, while the energycompensated PIN diode provides high dose rate range coverage and accurate dose measurements.
Its immersible design makes it reliable for operation in wet environments and for easy decontamination. The GammaRAE II IR is also certified intrinsically safe (standard version only), allowing it to be used safely in more environments than any other radiation detector.
The GammaRAE II R accumulates accurate dose. Stored dose data can be accumulated or cleared and reset for each use period. The GammaRAE II R logs 30,000 data points.
Two versions of the GammaRAE II R are available. The standard version is powered by two AA alkaline batteries, while the rechargeable version can utilize alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries, which can be charged in-unit using the included charging cradle.
